Buildings change, technologies evolve, people come and go, yet streets remain constant, seemingly unchanging. Like veins, they connect and nourish towns and villages, they trace the past, present, and future, they connect generations and histories. Roads walked countless times become part of a society&#8217;s collective memory, as people go through routes over years, sometimes centuries. Streets stand as steadfast witnesses, preserving the essence of the life that flows upon them. In an ever-changing world, they appear as constant observers and silent historiographers of human civilization.<\/p>\n<p>The photo shows the area of Vasilissis Sofias Street in the Samakov district in Xanthi about 120 years ago.
