A postcard from the Balkan Wars era
Postcard written in Xanthi on 25/7/1915. You can see the current Michail Karaoli Street, which led from the central square to the tobacco warehouses area and the railway station. The three-story building in the center belonged to the Kyriazi brothers and operated as a hotel. The Bulgarian flag on its façade marks the period when the photo was taken, as the city was under Bulgarian occupation, in the midst of the Balkan Wars and World War I.
