Another view of Hydragogiou Street

The oil painting by Xanthi’s painter Christos Pavlidis (Antalya Asia Minor 1913 – Xanthi 1998) depicts Hydragogiou street in the old town, with its characteristic houses. The street is the entrance to the city from the north and was named so because the old aqueduct of Xanthi was located at its end. Christos Pavlidis was an important painter of the city, to whom the Municipal Gallery is dedicated, where also this particular work is exhibited.
