Koutsavakides

The koutsavakides were a typical feature of the Athenian underworld, easily recognisable by their appearance: greasy and unkempt hair, a black jacket with only one sleeve worn, and a long belt that crawled on the ground. Woe to anyone who stepped on it (even if accidentally): the most ruthless koutsavakides would stab you for this misstep. They also stood out with their voices, hoarse from the hashish, which sowed terror to whoever was in range.
